Muslin squares are an essential on any new baby checklist; they’re used for feeding, mopping up spills and wiping delicate skin, burping, lining prams, as comforters and more. Our muslin squares offer a luxury alternative to readily available cotton essentials and are made from 100% bamboo rayon muslin – beautifully soft, highly absorbent, organic and better for the environment than cotton. Our bamboo muslins are;
Softer than cotton – bamboo fabric is often described as the ‘cashmere of cotton’
Highly absorbent – the bamboo plant can absorb up to three times its weight in water and this quality carries through to the fabric
Unique – our print patterns are created in collaboration with aspiring British-based artists
Easy to care for – can be machine washed and ironed on low
Environmentally-friendly – bamboo grows incredibly quickly (it’s the fastest growing plant on earth) and needs less water to grow than cotton. It has no natural pests and so doesn’t use pesticides, unlike cotton which is said to account for around one third of the global sales of insecticide and pesticides.
‘LITTLE GULL’ – Artist Sebastiano Fossali
These beautiful muslins were designed by Glasgow School of Art student Sebastiano Fossali. Sebastiano grew up in Italy and studied painting at the Venice College of Art before moving to the UK to continue his studies. He prefers working with watercolour and ink, and hopes to one day become a professional illustrator.
